Construction of a solar power plant in Ukraine with NEFCO financing

9MW solar power plant is being built with the financial support of NEFCO in Brovarskiy district, Kyiv region. Works on the project has begun in autumn 2018 by signing the Treaty of Intent on Cooperation between Norsk Solar and Pro-Energy, as we wrote earlier on Pro-Energy social pages.

This project is being implemented on the basis of joint venture between the Norwegian power company Norsk Solar AS and Ukrainian company Pro-Energy LLC, for the latter it is the first solar project.

The solar power station is located in Semypolky village, Brovarskiy district and will be built on a total area of 12.63 hectares. Start of the installation is expected by the end of 2019. After commissioning, the installation will produce 11,000 MW annually, and the renewable energy of the plant will provide annual emission reductions of about 8600 tonnes of CO2.

This is the first solar energy project to be implemented in Ukraine by Norwegian company Norsk Solar AS, so Pro-Energy LLC took the responsibilities of a local project developer and will act as project manager during its implementation.

It should be noted that NEFCO has long-term experience of financing renewable energy projects in Ukraine, and this is the fifth energy project implemented by NEFCO financing in the country.
