VITAGRO approached Pro-Energy with the task of transitioning from generating electricity and heat from biogas to producing biomethane. The client was seeking a ready-made technological solution for the stable production of European-quality biomethane with the possibility of exporting it to the EU market.

Plant specifications

Biogas flow at the inlet: 750 Nm3/hour, methane content — 55%.

Technology: Evonik Sepuran Green 3-stage membrane system.

Capacity: 412.5 m³ of biomethane/hour.

Annual volume: ≈3 million m³ of biomethane.

Solution

The company has significant raw material potential — livestock and crop waste, which was transformed into biogas, from which electricity was generated. The transition to biomethane required:

integration of new biogas purification technologies;
connection to gas transmission networks;
guarantees of stable production and compliance with European standards.

Pro-Energy implemented the project in partnership with Bright Biomethane.

support for the design of the pre-treatment system and connection to gas networks;

installation and commissioning works;

coordination of equipment supply;

ongoing maintenance.

Results

After the plant was launched, VITAGRO achieved stable production of European-quality biomethane at a volume of approximately 3 million m³ per year. This enabled the company to enter the European market with its own renewable energy source. The use of Bright Biomethane equipment ensured high reliability and compliance with European standards.

In addition to the economic effect, the company also achieved an environmental result: livestock and crop waste is now processed into a valuable resource, reducing CO₂ emissions and negative impact on the environment.
