Metalworking enterprises are critically dependent on a stable power supply, as any outage means equipment downtime, disruption to production schedules and direct financial losses. Faced with regular power cuts, the customer approached Pro-Energy with a request for an autonomous and reliable energy solution that would ensure continuity of production even during blackouts.

Inquiry

The client approached Pro-Energy with a request to ensure uninterrupted power supply for production processes in conditions of unstable operation of the centralised power system. The key objective of the project was to achieve energy independence for the enterprise and reduce the risk of equipment downtime during power outages.

In addition, the client considered implementing its own power generation as a tool for optimising electricity costs in the medium and long term.

Decision

We implemented a project for the supply, installation and commissioning of a 1 MW containerised cogeneration plant at a company's premises in Kryvyi Rih. The work was carried out on a turnkey basis with subsequent service support.

The project was implemented from July to December 2024 and covered the full cycle of engineering and commissioning works — from the preparation of technical solutions to the launch of the installation in operating mode. All stages were carried out taking into account the production loads of the enterprise and the requirements for continuous operation of the power system.

Collection and analysis of initial data on the enterprise's energy consumption.

Selection of a cogeneration plant in accordance with the technical parameters of the facility.

Supply of equipment in partnership with 2G.

Installation and assembly of the unit in a container design.

Commissioning and testing.

Consulting support for the customer on connection and operation issues.

Conclusion

The implementation of this project confirmed the effectiveness of cogeneration as a systematic approach to energy supply for industrial enterprises. In-house generation enables businesses to move from reactive energy risk management to a predictable and controllable operating model, where energy becomes a manageable resource rather than an external constraint.

The case study demonstrates that investing in modern cogeneration solutions is part of a long-term sustainability strategy focused on production continuity, economic efficiency, and adaptation to unstable energy market conditions. It is this approach that shapes the competitive advantage of industrial enterprises in Ukraine today and in the coming years.
